Trekking in Sikkim
The major trekking point is at Yuksom. It is one of the best ways of exploring the lushness of the alpine forests, the striking beauty and the quaint Buddhist monasteries. KCC is able to provide KCC-trained cooks, porters and guides.
Code of Conduct
Tourist Registration It is compulsory for all international and domestic tourists to register with the Police Check Post in Yuksam for their own safety. All trekking groups must also register with the Khangchendzonga National Park authorities (the office is located at the trek head) to pay the entry & camera fee and provide itinerary & hired support staff (cook, guides, etc.) details. There will also be a form to fill regarding food items and disposables to be declared before the trek. Trekking Groups should also register with Sikkim Tourism authorities in Yuksam and pay the required fee. Trekking Routes
1. Yuksam - Dzongri (25 km, 2 Days, 1 Way - Moderate Difficulty) 2. Yuksam - Gochela (45 km, 8 Days, 2 Way - High Difficulty) Stop for a night at Tshoka and Dzongri. 3. Round Trip Yuksam - Gochela - Kusturi (65 km - Very High Difficulty) Tashiding - Labdang - Kasturi Oar - Lam Tokhri - Thangsing - Dzongri - Tshoka - Yuksam 4.
